The Eigenhurricane
WSC 5 – 1.
…umm.
5 – 1.
From our last meeting with Hurricanes in an off-season game last spring where we lost, we were expecting a team of hot shots immitating the „big boys“ and a boom-boom game. In the first minutes of last night’s WSC match against the Vienna City Hurricanes, it seemed to be your normal hard hitting, back-and-forth match-up. Then Clemens Ederer lets a wrister go from just over the redline which sneaks by a puzzled Hurricane goalie. 1 – 0 WSC. After this, Hurricanes began to inflict self injury, racking up penalty after penalty and 3 game misconducts through the remainder of the 3 periods. At the end, Wiener Sport Club on top.
5 – 1.
Reviewing the game period by period isn’t needed. Look at the penalty minute statistics on the leagues game page for that. The goals…they simply came and they tasted pretty good. Enough to smoke the Hurricanes out of 2 points out-shooting them 38 – 23.
5 – 1.
It’s all about what happens on ice. I agree with that.

Fabian, missed you after you left! Good to hear that you’re OK. Gute Besserung!

Man of the match: Clemens Ederer. The match Captain skated hard, providing points, and glue for the team’s composure leading ultimately to:

Coach’s corner spotlight on Hendrick Schulze. For your hustle, Härte and that dis-allowed crash goal which you followed up on for goal number 5.
5 – 1.
A note of respect out to all members of WSC. You’re a team with heart, nerve and stamina. The trick of the opponent to step up the dirty play didn’t ruin your own game. You kept working the puck and you got the goals.
